英國皇家統(tǒng)計協(xié)會（The Royal Statistical Society）是世界上著名的統(tǒng)計學(xué)會，也是英國唯一的專業(yè)統(tǒng)計學(xué)術(shù)團(tuán)體，1887年根據(jù)英國皇家憲章正式成立，目前擁有來自全球50多個國家的7000名成員，其中有1500名資深統(tǒng)計學(xué)家。從2004年開始，學(xué)會將每年一度的會議范圍擴(kuò)大，吸引了世界各國統(tǒng)計學(xué)家參加。

英國皇家統(tǒng)計學(xué)會致力于支持統(tǒng)計學(xué)和統(tǒng)計學(xué)家的發(fā)展，其工作內(nèi)容主要包括出版統(tǒng)計期刊、舉辦統(tǒng)計會議、制定和維護(hù)統(tǒng)計職業(yè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)、為大學(xué)統(tǒng)計課程評級和舉辦考試、宣傳統(tǒng)計知識、鼓勵統(tǒng)計生產(chǎn)者和使用者實踐、為會員提供專業(yè)化和職業(yè)化的統(tǒng)計培訓(xùn)與支持。鑒于時代發(fā)展要求與英國基礎(chǔ)學(xué)科的支持，使得統(tǒng)計學(xué)的發(fā)展空間得到前所未有的延展。
