• 電氣工程（Electrical ??Engineering簡稱EE）學(xué)科定義：

電氣工程（Electrical Engineering簡稱EE）是現(xiàn)代科技領(lǐng)域中的核心學(xué)科之一，更是當(dāng)今高新技術(shù)領(lǐng)域中不可或缺的關(guān)鍵學(xué)科。例如正是電子技術(shù)的巨大進(jìn)步才推動了以計算機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)為基礎(chǔ)的信息時代的到來，并將改變?nèi)祟惖纳罟ぷ髂Ｊ降鹊?。從某種意義上講，電氣工程的發(fā)達(dá)程度代表著國家的科技進(jìn)步水平。正因?yàn)榇?，電氣工程的教育和科研一直在發(fā)達(dá)國家大學(xué)中占據(jù)十分重要的地位。傳統(tǒng)的電氣工程定義為用于創(chuàng)造產(chǎn)生電氣與電子系統(tǒng)的有關(guān)學(xué)科的總和。此定義本已經(jīng)十分寬泛，但隨著科學(xué)技術(shù)的飛速發(fā)展，21世紀(jì)的電氣工程概念已經(jīng)遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超出上述定義的范疇，斯坦福大學(xué)教??授指出：今天的電氣工程涵蓋了幾乎所有與電子、光子有關(guān)的工程行為。

?農(nóng)業(yè)電氣化與自動化學(xué)科是電氣與電子工程學(xué)院的一個新興專業(yè)學(xué)科，該學(xué)科研究方向主要包括地方電力系統(tǒng)及其自動化、農(nóng)業(yè)供用電新技術(shù)、智能化檢測與控制技術(shù)、農(nóng)村電氣化發(fā)展研究與管理信息系統(tǒng)等。培養(yǎng)具有較強(qiáng)的綜合素質(zhì)和創(chuàng)新能力、能勝任農(nóng)業(yè)電氣化與自動化工作需要的復(fù)合型高級工程技術(shù)人才。

現(xiàn)設(shè)有通信工程和電子信息科學(xué)與技術(shù)2個本科專業(yè)；計算機(jī)通信1個專科專業(yè)；設(shè)有通信與信息系統(tǒng)、信號與信息處理和電路與系統(tǒng)等3個碩士點(diǎn)，構(gòu)成完整的一級學(xué)科。

Write a statement (1-2 pages, single-spaced, in a 12 point font) indicating your purposes and objectives in undertaking graduate study, your special interests and plans, and your strengths and weaknesses in your chosen field. Briefly describe any research projects or any independent research in which you have actively participated and indicate how this has influenced your career choice and desire to pursue graduate studies.

Also, if you have attended more than two colleges for your undergraduate degree or you have earned a master's degree from a different school than the one from which you earned your undergraduate degree, give the reason for your change.


University of California--Irvine 文書題目
In an essay, please describe your aptitude and motivation for graduate study in your area of specialization, including your preparation for this field of study, your academic plans or research interests and experience in your chosen area of study, and your future career goals. Please be specific about why UC Irvine would be a good intellectual fit for you.

This "Statement of Purpose" is required for all applicants and is different from the "Personal History Statement" that is also required for all applicants who are US Citizens or legal US Permanent Residents. The "Statement of Purpose" is expected to focus on your academic/research background and interests while the "Personal History Statement" is expected to focus on your personal background.
