英國六大同聲傳譯專業(yè)深度解析

在英國讀同聲傳譯Simultaneous?Interpretation的Master學(xué)位可供選擇的學(xué)校不多，從綜合排名的先后來看的話，分別是Bath，Newcastle,?Leeds,Salford,?Westminster,?Middlesex.下面我就按照這個(gè)順序?qū)@些學(xué)校的Simultaneous?Interpretation及其類似相關(guān)專業(yè)進(jìn)行一一介紹。

首先，Bath。它的同聲傳譯Simultaneous?Interpretation屬于European?Studies?&?Modern?Languages（歐洲研究和現(xiàn)代語言），它的專業(yè)名稱是：MA?in?Interpreting?and?Translating，分為兩個(gè)方向：
1.?以英語為母語的人學(xué)的（Path?1?allows?students?with?English?as?their?A?language?to?offer?two?other?languages?-?from?Chinese,?French,?German,?Italian,?Japanese,?Russian?and?Spanish?-?working?only?into?English）；
2.?英語為母語的或者以中文、法語、德語、意大利語、俄語和西班牙語為母語的人，以學(xué)習(xí)英語與自己母語的互相翻譯。

入學(xué)要求是：1.?Good?Honors?Degree?(平均分80分以上)?；2.?語言要求：雅思7.0，單科不低于6.0。有專門的Chinese?Stream，另外，在滿足了上述基本要求后，學(xué)生還要經(jīng)過學(xué)校的口語和書面語的篩選和面試，以保證學(xué)校的錄取人員的高水平。這個(gè)專業(yè)只招收最多24個(gè)人，小班上課（6-10人），學(xué)校會(huì)提供可能的實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)。而且，讀完一年的課程后，學(xué)生還要經(jīng)過考試以判定得到MA學(xué)位還是Diploma。

第二，Newcastle.?它的語言學(xué)的排名是第三，僅次于牛津、劍橋。由于它的語言學(xué)太強(qiáng)了，它對(duì)申請(qǐng)者的要求也相應(yīng)地來說最高，比Bath還高，而且它只接受雅思成績(jī)。它的語言要求到雅思要求到7.5，單科不低于7.0，而且必須要面試。除此之外，它還需要申請(qǐng)者的二外達(dá)到expert水平，即精通。

Newcastle的Simultaneous?Interpretation隸屬于School?of?Modern?Languages(現(xiàn)代語言系)，這個(gè)系下屬十二個(gè)專業(yè)（International?Film:?History,?Theory?and?Practice?MA?and?PGDip；Interpreting?MA（兩年制，第一年是Graduate?Diploma,?若滿足了入學(xué)條件，則進(jìn)入第二年的MA課程，目標(biāo)是在市場(chǎng)、商業(yè)、科技、國際關(guān)系和傳媒方向的翻譯）；

Translation?Studies?MA（傾向于研究方面，要學(xué)兩年，第一年只能拿一個(gè)Diploma，若符合條件才能進(jìn)入下一年的MA課程）），可見其語言學(xué)方面的強(qiáng)勢(shì)。而我們要申請(qǐng)的Simultaneous?Interpretation在Translating?Graduate?Diploma里，而不是MA，而要得到MA，則要在Translating?Graduate?Diploma之后再讀MA?Translating?and?Interpreting課程。而這個(gè)Diploma課程的入學(xué)要求是：You?need?a?BA?degree?with?a?minimum?average?of?75?per?cent?(or?GPA?2.75)?on?your?transcript?or?an?upper-second-class?Honors?degree?or?higher.?Non-degree?holders,?such?as?holders?of?Junior?College?Diplomas,?should?have?three?years’?relevant?work?experience.?Native?speakers?of?Chinese?or?Japanese?require?an?English?language?score?of?at?least?IELTS?7.0,?with?no?less?than?6.0?in?any?one?skill.?口語和寫作不低于6.5。Newcastle適合想要讀兩年得到MA的申請(qǐng)者。


3.利茲大學(xué)?university?of?leeds?

第三，Leeds。Leeds有自己的Translation?Studies系，有六門不同的MA課程，其中有Simultaneous?translating課程包含在Conference?Interpreting?and?Translation?Studies里，要求是IELTS?(Academic)?score?of?6.5?with?at?least?7.0?in?speaking?and?6.0?in?all?other?components，Academic?entry?req：Usually?a?BA?(Honours)?degree,?2:1（80分以上）?classification?or?equivalent?in?a?language-based?subject.?還要參加考試。





4.?索爾福德大學(xué)salford?university

第四，Salford。?索爾福德的同傳課程包含在MA/PgDip?Interpreting?and?Translating這門課程里，但是這門課程主要面向以英語、法語、德語和西班牙語為母語的申請(qǐng)者，如果不是以這幾門語言為母語的申請(qǐng)者，則需提供證據(jù)證明自己的英語非常高的熟練度。它的官網(wǎng)上并沒說明這個(gè)熟練度的程度，即雅思成績(jī)。

總體來說，Salford的語言系School?of?Languages還是很強(qiáng)的，光碩士學(xué)位課程就有七門，其中還有專門針對(duì)中英文互譯的課程。但是simultaneous?interpretation同聲傳譯這門課是包含在Interpreting?and?Translating的選修課程里的，而且沒有中文方向的，所以不適合中國人去讀。適合中國人讀的是：MA/PgDip?Chinese/English/Chinese?Translation和MA/PgDip?Chinese/English/Chinese?Translation?with?Interpreting。

MA?Bilingual?Translation，有中文方向，要求本科畢業(yè)，或者有相關(guān)工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)，雅思6.5。



6.密德薩斯大學(xué)?middlesex?university?

第六，Middlesex的Interpreting。在School?of?Art?and?Education系里。專門為中國學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì)的同傳課程。Unlike?many?such?courses,?the?MA?Interpreting?concentrates?on?training?interpreters?and?does?not?include?translation?modules.

要求：Typical?students?will?be?graduates?in?English?language?with?a?good?knowledge?of?linguistics?and?prerably?some?experience?of?interpreting?or?translating.?要參加考試。
