申請文書 是申請過程中必須經(jīng)歷的 命題作文 。如今，申請美國大學(xué)的平臺除了原本的Common Application（以下簡稱CA）之外，還有去年把同學(xué)們搞得神經(jīng)緊張的CAAS系統(tǒng)。

對于申請競爭激烈的美國來說，申請者學(xué)會應(yīng)對各種變化是必備的能力之一，因?yàn)镃A官網(wǎng)最近公布了2017-2018新的文書題目，較之前發(fā)生了較大的變化。據(jù)悉，之所以作出調(diào)整變化的原因是一項(xiàng)基于超過5000人對CA文書題目的反饋，而其中超過半數(shù)的反饋者是學(xué)生。

例如，在之前的文書話題中，有一項(xiàng)命題是要求學(xué)生形容 你曾經(jīng)的一次失敗經(jīng)歷 ，旨在讓學(xué)生思考自己曾經(jīng)是怎樣處理沒有意料到的困難，而這項(xiàng)經(jīng)歷則必須是真實(shí)的。但根據(jù)反饋來看，題目中的 failure 則限制了學(xué)生的發(fā)揮。于是在2017-2018年的命題中，CA對此作出了調(diào)整：要求學(xué)生思考的范圍要更廣，不僅僅是 失敗 ，還有 挑戰(zhàn) 和 挫折 。

2017-2018年文書在最后新增了兩道新命題。第一個(gè)命題是要求學(xué)生分享自己關(guān)于求知欲的經(jīng)歷(intellectual curiosity)，第二個(gè)命題是自選話題作文，但要注意的是自由話題的文章往往更能突出學(xué)生的自我觀點(diǎn)和品質(zhì)，凸顯自我定位和自我思考，并不僅僅拘泥于創(chuàng)造性。

1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story. [No change]

2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? [Revised]

3. Rlect on a time when you questioned or challenged a beli or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome? [Revised]

4. Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution. [No change]

5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. [Revised]

6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more? [New]

7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design. [New]
