　　加拿大政府認(rèn)可的高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)主要分為大學(xué)和學(xué)院。學(xué)院主要分為大學(xué)學(xué)院、專業(yè)學(xué)院和社區(qū)學(xué)院，各類學(xué)院側(cè)重培養(yǎng)應(yīng)用型專業(yè)技術(shù)人才，一般提供大專文憑和各種證書(shū)課程，學(xué)制2至3年，不頒發(fā)學(xué)位;部分學(xué)校也開(kāi)設(shè)學(xué)制1至2年的課程，完成學(xué)業(yè)后可轉(zhuǎn)入正規(guī)大學(xué)二、三年級(jí)繼續(xù)攻讀本科課程。

　　加拿大聯(lián)邦政府不設(shè)教育部，教育由各省負(fù)責(zé)。由于加拿大各省之間經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展水平差別較大, 各省建立了適合本地發(fā)展、相對(duì)獨(dú)立的教育體制。目前，在加拿大以公司形式注冊(cè)的私立學(xué)校數(shù)以千計(jì)，其專業(yè)、學(xué)科設(shè)置和師資配備等尚無(wú)有效監(jiān)控。中國(guó)學(xué)生申請(qǐng)這些私立學(xué)校時(shí)，務(wù)必謹(jǐn)慎。
