　　2. 學(xué)習(xí)課程：

　　80. "All students should be required to take courses in the sciences, even if they have no interest in science."

　　90. "College students should be encouraged to pursue subjects that interest them rather than seek programs that promise entry into the job market."

　　94. "Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student&aposs field of study because acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated."

　　In so far as the take the courses outside the student’s fields of study may expand him a wide spectrum of vision, I fundamentally agree with the speaker that the real “truly educated” should be based on the learning a wide scope of knowledge. However, close scrutiny reveals that overstate either the importance of the professional knowledge or the information outside will lead into jeopardize situation.

　　a) Since various disciplines were interrelated, the study of courses outside the students’ own field may benit the study of their own major.如：研究經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)的適當(dāng)學(xué)習(xí)數(shù)學(xué)知識(shí)有利于對(duì)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)的更深理解，如達(dá)芬奇Da Vinci即是科學(xué)家也是藝術(shù)家，他對(duì)人體解剖anatomy的深入了解，才使得他的油畫十分優(yōu)美，傳神。

　　b) 首先，要解決一個(gè)問題，可能同時(shí)需要多方面知識(shí)，比如要編出一個(gè)很優(yōu)秀的程序，僅僅懂得編程語言是不夠的，還需要對(duì)軟件工程，數(shù)學(xué)等方面知識(shí)的了解。比如，一個(gè)復(fù)雜的科研課題可能需要很多人共同合作完成，不但需要在專業(yè)知識(shí)上精通，如果具有管理學(xué)的知識(shí)可以更使工作更有效。其次，可以讓學(xué)生發(fā)現(xiàn)她真正感興趣的研究方向。比如德布羅意De Broglie開始是文學(xué)專業(yè)畢業(yè)的，后來接觸了量子學(xué)才發(fā)現(xiàn)物理才是他的興趣所在，后來提出了phase wave理論最后，廣泛的學(xué)習(xí)各種知識(shí)能夠拓寬視野

　　c) 過分強(qiáng)調(diào)學(xué)習(xí)其他學(xué)科的重要性可能會(huì)導(dǎo)致學(xué)生忽視專業(yè)的學(xué)習(xí)，畢竟社會(huì)需要對(duì)某方面有專長(zhǎng)的人，這也是高校設(shè)置major的目的所在，淺嘗輒止對(duì)個(gè)人和社會(huì)都無裨益;學(xué)習(xí)通信的整天忙于看文學(xué)，學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)濟(jì)，哪里有時(shí)間去鉆研通信方面的的知識(shí)，怎么合格的畢業(yè)?

　　d) 只有在自己專業(yè)上有很深的理解，才能有所成就。對(duì)一些理論的理解，不是膚淺的了解就能得到的，需要長(zhǎng)時(shí)間案的積累。比如Roentgen倫琴就是在自己的專業(yè)上辛勤奮斗了許多年才發(fā)現(xiàn)了X-ray
