　　The following appeared in a presentation by the chi production manager of a machine parts manufacturing company at a management meeting:

　　“Our factory in Cookville is our most advanced and ficient. It is capable of producing ten drill bits for each dollar of production costs, whereas none of our other factories can produce more than seven drill bits per dollar of production costs. Therore, we can reduce our overall drill bit production costs by devoting the Cookville factory entirely to drill bit production. Since reducing the production costs of individual machine parts is the only way to achieve our larger goal of reducing our overall production costs, dedicating the Cookville factory entirely to drill bit production and shifting all other machine part production to our other factories will help us to attain that larger goal.”

　　一個(gè)經(jīng)理在一次會(huì)議說，他們公司的一家廠的drill bits一美元的成本能生產(chǎn)10個(gè)他們公司的其他的廠只能生產(chǎn)7個(gè)。所以為了減少成本，他們應(yīng)該將所有的drill bits 的生產(chǎn)放到 那家廠，從而實(shí)現(xiàn)longterm goal。，因?yàn)榻档筒考杀臼沁_(dá)到降低總體成本的唯一辦法，所以這個(gè)舉措能達(dá)到降低總體成本的目標(biāo)

　　【參考思路】

　　這個(gè)argument 的思路繞來繞去就是有three mojor flaws: reduce costs by devoting entirely drill bit production to C; the only way to reduce costs is to reduce production costs; shifting the production of the other parts to other factories is the appropriate way to go

　　針對這三個(gè) direct or indirect conlusions 寫就行了

　　1: although C produce more bits per dollar, the reason may be that C has high- skilled workers, total new and high- quality machines, or less amounts of orders(訂單) thus entirely shifting is fallacious, the results may be that the workers may be too tired and have too much burden, the machines would be worn out, and all this could contribute to the lowering of the productivity

　　2: the management assumes without further more evidence that reucing the productions costs is the only way to enhance cost -fective production process: 可以train workers , 引進(jìn)new technologies, 定期維修老舊設(shè)備，提高management strategy...

　　3: 就是轉(zhuǎn)移制造這一部分：也許轉(zhuǎn)移制造之后 cargo and transporting fees would roar因?yàn)閟poradically 分布的 工廠可以及時(shí)供貨，集中在一個(gè)地方不利于 供貨， 而且shifting 牽扯到 搬家的費(fèi)用：那些cumbersome machine怎么轉(zhuǎn)移啊,人員怎么遷移啊。。。這些都是huge expense, may not weighover the elevation of the productivity
