新西蘭留學(xué)技術(shù)移民新政策

　　 新西蘭政府宣布，由于國內(nèi)人力資源短缺，對移民政策進行修改，吸引來自像中國和印度等國家的技術(shù)工人。新西蘭移民部長對當(dāng)?shù)匾患译娕_說，新西蘭信息技術(shù)產(chǎn)業(yè)急需專業(yè)技術(shù)人員。這家電臺得到的內(nèi)閣文件說，為了與其他發(fā)達國家競爭技術(shù)勞工，新西蘭移民政策需要全面修改。

　　 提議的修改內(nèi)容包括簡化技術(shù)和潛在移民的申請，在新西蘭國內(nèi)、而不是在國外辦理永久居民申請案。

　　 新西蘭移民部長說，移民政策將繼續(xù)以吸引技術(shù)勞工為目標(biāo)，不分國籍或種族。他補充說，這項政策改變并不偏向某些國家的工人，但是在談技術(shù)人員來源的時候提到中國和印度。

　　 New Zealand Seeks Skilled Workers from Overseas

　　 The New Zealand government has announced changes in its immigration policy to attract skilled workers from countries such as China and India, because of shortages at home. The country's immigration minister told a local radio station that New Zealand's information-technology sector is desperate for skilled professionals. Cabinet papers obtained by the station say New Zealand's immigration rules need an overhaul to compete with other developed nations for skilled labor.

　　 The proposed changes include streamlined applications from skilled, potential migrants and handling residency applications in New Zealand, rather than abroad.

　　 The minister said the policy continues to target skills without regard to applicants' national origin or race. He added that the policy had not changed to favor one country's workers over another's, but named India and China as examples of sources for skilled workers.
