　　一、教育

　　1. In countries where there is a high rate of unemployment, most pupils should be offered only primary education. There is no point in offering secondary education to those who have no hope of finding a job. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? (08.01.26)

　　不同意：

　　中學教育是一個重要的德育階段，如果在這個時候中斷，帶來的不僅僅是失業(yè)這樣的問題，還有青少年犯罪等社會問題 vital stage for moral education. If it was interrupted, numerous of social problems/headaches may create as juvenile delinquency. (正如馬克吐溫說：你每關(guān)閉一所學校，你就必須開設(shè)一座監(jiān)獄。Every time you stop a school, you will have to build a jail )

　　教育能夠幫助培養(yǎng)個人素質(zhì);提高勞動力的素質(zhì)，從而提高生產(chǎn)效率，推動社會發(fā)展，從根本上解決失業(yè)的問題。do a favor to/be beneficial(advantageous, preferable) to personal quality, enhance/boost/promote the quality of the labor force, thereby increase production efficiency, social development, solve the problem of unemployment

　　從長遠來看，如果受過更高的教育，則有更多的機會找到好的工作。In a long run/term, if pupils could receive better education, they may have far more opportunities to find better jobs.

　　教育的作用不僅僅應(yīng)當局限在找工作，而是為了將來更好的發(fā)展。The function of education should be not only focused on \limited in job hunting, but also for a better development.

　　失業(yè)的原因是綜合的comprehensive/complicated，例如經(jīng)濟原因：經(jīng)濟衰退或者不景氣 economy recession/depression，就業(yè)崗位劇減，導致市場對于勞動力的需求整體下降a fall in the overall demand for labor;社會原因，個人原因等
