因為的主辦方Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC)成員包括世界各地許多知名的商學院，所以成績被全球各大商學院普遍認可，是目前世界范圍內(nèi)申請攻讀MBA時最被普遍要求申請者提供的一個考試成績。

考試不僅考查申請人的語言能力和數(shù)學能力，還要測試其頭腦反應、邏輯思維和解決實際問題的能力。一般來說，考試可以比較真實地反映應試者的英語水平，因而受到越來越多的專業(yè)和學校的重視和好評。

考試的科目包括會計學、經(jīng)濟學、管理學、普通管理、生產(chǎn)管理、行政管理、國際貿(mào)易、固定資產(chǎn)保險、財政、市場、保健、交通、數(shù)學分析、管理信息系統(tǒng)及行為科學等十多個專業(yè)學科。

考試采取計算機化的自適應考試形式，一年有216次考試?？荚噺亩噙x題部分開始，考題在考生開始考試時才被挑選出來。當考生每答完一道考題，該考題會被立即評判。

電腦根據(jù)考生完成的試題結(jié)果來決定接下來的考題內(nèi)容。同時考生必須答完每一道考題方可進入下一道考題，考試不能回查?？荚囂峁﹥蓚€10分鐘的可選休息。如果休息時間超出或者考試過程中考生要求臨時休息，隨后的考試時間將被自動扣除。

考試開始前，考生可以選擇最多5所免費想投送成績的大學或項目投送考試成績。如果需要另外加送成績，則需要通過注冊中心或MBA網(wǎng)站付費訂購。在看到考試結(jié)果前，考生有機會決定是否取消本次考試成績。

如果考生選擇取消，成績將不被打印并且其選擇的學校也不會收到考試成績。但是本次考試仍然會被記錄在檔，如果以后考生再次參加考試并接受考試成績時，本次記錄將列在所發(fā)送的成績單上。如果考生選擇接受本次考試結(jié)果，非正式成績單將顯示在考試機屏幕上并同時打印出來。
