SAT語法如何不失分？教你吃透“so”的用法.

　　SAT考試十分看重考生的SAT語法基礎(chǔ)和使用能力的考察，有些語法點(diǎn)雖然簡(jiǎn)單，但如果考生沒有將其“吃透”就很容易造成失分的現(xiàn)象。

　　以單詞“so”為例，這個(gè)單詞雖短，也很常見，但要真正掌握它的用法，還著實(shí)不易，因?yàn)樗~意豐富，搭配眾多，且詞性詭異，在SAT語法考試部分，其出鏡率很高，澳際上海學(xué)校VIP學(xué)習(xí)中心SAT團(tuán)隊(duì)的老師提醒各位考生千萬不能小覷它，一定要掌握好每一個(gè)含義和搭配的用法，在考試中才不會(huì)被“陷阱” 迷惑。

　　一、“so”作為連詞

　　1. 釋義：for that reason;and therore

　　例句：There are no more chairs available, so you&aposll have to stand.

　　1. The problem of copyright violation, frequently compounded in certain countries because the sale and use of copyrighted materials are not tightly controlled. (OG：第八套題)

　　A. violation, frequently compounded in certain countries because

　　B. violation, frequently compounded in certain countries and

　　C. violation, frequently compounded in certain countries when

　　D. violation is frequently compounded in certain countries where

　　E. violation is frequently compounded in certain countries so

　　此題的考點(diǎn)是不完整句，謂語動(dòng)詞部分缺少了用于構(gòu)成被動(dòng)語態(tài)的助動(dòng)詞is，當(dāng)答案范圍圈定D和E時(shí)，就需要從where和so來下手了。通讀題干，我們知道這里應(yīng)該是因果關(guān)系，所以選擇E。

　　2. 釋義：used to say the reason for something

　　例句：Please be quiet so I can study.

　　此時(shí)也可以使用so that：I&aposll get a map so that we can plan where to go.

　　2. My mother always gave my sister and I (A) the same treats when we were little so that (B) neither of us would be (C) jealous of the other (D) . No error (E) (真題：09年10月)

　　此題的考點(diǎn)是代詞的格，答案為A。在這道題目中，so that是一個(gè)從屬連詞，表示“以便”。

　　二、“so”作為副詞

　　1. 釋義：used when you are emphasizing a fact by saying what the result of it is

　　例句：She was so tired that she almost fell asleep at the dinner table.

　　這就是大名鼎鼎的so...that句型，在SAT語法考試中屢屢出現(xiàn)哦!

　　3. The new regulations have so complicated the process of formulating a school budget to where no one on the Board of Education is eager to undertake the task. (真題：06年10月)

　　A. budget to where

　　B. budget, therore

　　C. budget, even

　　D. budget as

　　E. budget that

　　此題答案為E，so...that表達(dá)了正確的語義邏輯。

　　2. 釋義：and so=and therore

　　例句：Madeira has an ideal climate, and so it is not surprising that it has become a tourist paradise.

　　有的同學(xué)只知道so是連詞，因此看到and so的時(shí)候，會(huì)覺得是兩個(gè)連詞一起使用，任務(wù)是錯(cuò)誤用法。其實(shí)在and so這個(gè)搭配中，and是連詞，so是副詞。請(qǐng)看題：

　　4. Fabric was very expensive in the United States bore the Industrial Revolution, this is why scraps were saved and recycled into such items as patchwork quilts and doll clothes. (真題：09年1月)

　　此題答案為C，and so改正了原文連寫句的錯(cuò)誤。

　　3. so...as to：used when you are emphasizing a fact by saying what the result of it is

　　這個(gè)結(jié)構(gòu)也表示“如此...以至于”，只不過后面要加動(dòng)詞原形。請(qǐng)看題：

　　5. Cuban music was so popular in (A) the Colombian city of Cali thus becoming (B) the basis for (C) the dance scene that predominated (D) there during the 1940s. No error (E) (真題：10年1月)

　　此題答案為B，應(yīng)該為as to become，以與前面的so構(gòu)成搭配。

　　4. 同級(jí)比較的否定結(jié)構(gòu)中：not so...as

　　大家都知道，as...as...表示是同級(jí)比較的肯定形式，在否定句中，前一個(gè)as可以換成so，這一點(diǎn)在SAT語法考試中也經(jīng)常考察。請(qǐng)看題：

　　6. The director valued the actor not so much for his broad commercial appeal but because he approached every role with passion and intelligence. (真題：08年5月)

　　(A) but because he approached every role with passion and intelligence

　　(B) but because of his approaching every role with passion and intelligence

　　(D) but for being passionate and intelligent in approaching every role

　　(D) as for him approaching every role passionately and intelligently

　　(E) as for his passionate and intelligent approach to every role

　　此題答案為E，as與句中的not so構(gòu)成比較結(jié)構(gòu)，as后的for與not so后面的for構(gòu)成平行。

　　5. (just) as ... so ...：formal used to compare two people or things, when they are similar

　　例句：Just as the French love their wine, so the English love their beer.

　　這個(gè)結(jié)構(gòu)在SAT語法考試中出現(xiàn)了多次，如下面這道題：

　　7. Just as Ireland has produced many famous writers and the Netherlands on abundance of famous painters, so Finland has provided a large number of famous architects. (OG：第七套題)

　　(A) so Finland has provided a large number of famous architects

　　(B) Finland provides famous architects, and by large numbers

　　(C) Finland’s contribution is to provided famous architects in a large number

　　(D) and so then, for Finland, a large number of famous architects is provided

　　(E) and like them Finland has provided a large number of famous architects

　　此題答案為A。很多人以為just as是一個(gè)連詞，so也是連詞，不能在一起使用，其實(shí)是可以的。

　　2016年SAT考試將實(shí)行全面改革，改革后整體更為友好，減少對(duì)艱澀單詞的直接考查，更為貼近學(xué)生的實(shí)際生活，但題目對(duì)于學(xué)生綜合能力的要求更高。
