破解GRE閱讀句子中的插入語.

　　有人把GRE閱讀比作“天書”，“寫給上帝的文章”，而組成這些文章的，正是這些看上去冗長、復(fù)雜令人眩暈的長句。本文結(jié)合例子，分析插入成分。

　　插入語的標(biāo)志是成對出現(xiàn)的逗號。

　　解讀技巧：當(dāng)你在閱讀文章某句的時候“偶遇”成對出現(xiàn)的逗號，或者在句意尚未完整時出現(xiàn)了逗號，那么建議先跳過你看不懂的東西，將其前后的內(nèi)容連讀起來。等到完整理解句意后，再回讀剛才跳過的內(nèi)容，反復(fù)讀，即可找到“真理”。

　　例句1： moreover , I can feel strong emotions in response to objects of art that are interpretations, rather than representations, of reality.

　　解讀方法：首先，找到句子主干：I can feel strong emotions , 當(dāng)你讀完整個句子，發(fā)現(xiàn)不得其意。這個時候不要強行突破，而是要迂回行事。當(dāng)你發(fā)現(xiàn)而rather than representations 是一個很突然的東西的時候，那么建議你直接跳過，讀后面的內(nèi)容。這個時候你就會發(fā)現(xiàn)原來的of reality 原來是跟在interpretations 的后面的，而rather than representations真正位置是在句尾，它插入到了一個完整意思的中間。 也就是本來的句子順序是moreover , I can feel strong emotions in response to objects of art that are interpretations of reality , rather than representations (of reality).

　　例句4：This prerence for exogamy, Guts suggests, may have derived from West African rules governing marriage, which， though they differed from one tribal group to another, all involved some kind of prohibition against unions with close kin.

　　解讀方法：句子主干是This prerence for exogamy may have derived 插入語有兩部分，Guts suggests 和though they differed from one tribal group to another. 正常的句子順序是Guts suggests this prerence for exogamy may have derived from West African rules governing marriage, which all involved some kind of prohibition against unions with close kin, though they differed from one tribal group to another.

　　總之，在GRE閱讀中，當(dāng)你看到支離破碎的句子成分時，不妨把暫時讀不懂的內(nèi)容跳過，把跳過內(nèi)容的前后連在一起，經(jīng)常會得到意想不到的連貫和通暢，最后就可以把跳過內(nèi)容定位。
