　　Chapter 11 parallelism Extra(重點)

　　Avoid making concrete nouns and action nouns parallel.

　?、?simple gerund phrases:nouns on the outside, verbs on the inside(就整句話而言，劃線部分是名詞，就劃線部分而言，-ing部分相當(dāng)于一個動詞)

　　Eg. Playing football is very interesting.

　　⑵ complex gerund phrases:the –ing gerund form is made fully into a noun; in fact, it is often preceded by articles(a, an, the) or adj..The object is put into an of-prepositional phrase(eg. the running of marathons) or placed in front of the –ing form(eg. marathon running)

　　Simple gerund phrases are never parallel to complex gerund phrases. Only compex ones can be parallel to action nouns.

　　If an appropriate action noun already exists in English, then avoid creating a complexgerund phrase. Instead, use the pre-existing action noun.

　　Eg. The rebels demanded the withdrawal of government forces from disputed regions AND RELEASING certain political prisoners. 錯

　　The rebels demanded the withdrawal of government forces from disputed regions AND THE RELEASING OF certain political prisoners. 錯

　　53. 大部分劃線，劃線部分是：選項A： the daughter of England， the wife and mother of France，B(人名)’s life——start with her bringing up in 某個地方, is。。。。

　　其它選項。Being the daughter of.......//as the daughter 考點是 主語一致

　　B(人名)’s life和the daughter of England， the wife and mother of France不一致，主語應(yīng)是B而不是B’s life。
