加拿大推薦信范文及注意事項(xiàng)

　　推薦信的份量直接關(guān)系到能否出國(guó)留學(xué)，能否獲得獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金等，作為對(duì)外聯(lián)系的材料，是其中一份較為重要的文件。推薦信的目的是通過(guò)國(guó)內(nèi)專家向?qū)Ψ浇榻B申請(qǐng)人的工作、學(xué)習(xí)和專業(yè)方向等情況。在出國(guó)申請(qǐng)是否成功的諸多要素中，有力的推薦信是錄取的重要條件之一，其份量?jī)H次于于本科成績(jī)單和標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考試(GRE、GMAT、TOEFL)成績(jī)。

　　多數(shù)學(xué)校都要求申請(qǐng)人提交兩封到三封的推薦信，由教授、系主任或工作主管直接寄給指定的單位。

　　一、選擇推薦人

　　推薦信是了解申請(qǐng)人的重要依據(jù)，在研究生課程中尤其如此。申請(qǐng)人可以選擇現(xiàn)在或以前的老師、教授或雇主。推薦人必須熟悉學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)情況，了解學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)目的是否明確，在學(xué)術(shù)上是否有前途，以及學(xué)生的適應(yīng)能力、創(chuàng)造能力、品行和特長(zhǎng)。

　　書寫推薦信的最理想的人選是一封由系主任寫，一封由專業(yè)課教授寫，一封由自己的導(dǎo)師寫。不過(guò)，對(duì)方若無(wú)規(guī)定，則除了自己的親屬之外，任何人皆可為推薦人。推薦人一般應(yīng)具備高級(jí)技術(shù)職稱，如教授、副教授、研究員、副研究員等。如果推薦人在國(guó)內(nèi)外學(xué)術(shù)界享有盛譽(yù)，或者被申請(qǐng)就讀學(xué)校聘為客座教授，或者曾經(jīng)在該校講過(guò)學(xué)，那么這樣的推薦人寫的推薦信就具有很強(qiáng)的效力了。

　　二、推薦信的內(nèi)容

　　推薦信一般應(yīng)包括下列內(nèi)容：

　　被推薦人的基本情況介紹。側(cè)重于個(gè)人的畢業(yè)時(shí)間、學(xué)校、所獲學(xué)位以及個(gè)人的專業(yè)經(jīng)歷。

　　推薦人對(duì)被推薦人的基本評(píng)價(jià)。側(cè)重于被推薦人的專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)、個(gè)性、特點(diǎn)、工作態(tài)度和在學(xué)術(shù)上的前途估計(jì)。若是推薦研究生，推薦人還需進(jìn)一步說(shuō)明其深造學(xué)習(xí)的基礎(chǔ)和當(dāng)前所具備的研究能力。顯然，恰如其分地評(píng)價(jià)被推薦人的基礎(chǔ)、能力和前途，比言過(guò)其實(shí)的贊譽(yù)更令人情服，更具有實(shí)際意義。

　　推薦人可以著重介紹被推薦人曾經(jīng)獲得的獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)，發(fā)表過(guò)的論文，參加過(guò)的重要學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議，以及曾在學(xué)生組織或?qū)W術(shù)團(tuán)體中的任職等來(lái)支持自己的評(píng)價(jià)。

　　推薦人還必須清楚地表明被推薦人留學(xué)的身份是研究生還是訪問(wèn)學(xué)者，專業(yè)領(lǐng)域和研究方向是什么。

　　如果大學(xué)提供了現(xiàn)成的推薦表格，則必須按這類表格認(rèn)真逐項(xiàng)填寫。推薦表格中一般有學(xué)生綜合評(píng)估的一項(xiàng)，即要求推薦人說(shuō)明該生在所教的學(xué)生中應(yīng)列為前5%，10%，或25%等。這種評(píng)估是指教授的個(gè)人評(píng)價(jià)，可以稍高一點(diǎn)。另外，推薦表格上常有許多難以填寫的項(xiàng)目，遇到這種情形可填"I don't know"，亦不致對(duì)該生的評(píng)價(jià)有何嚴(yán)重影響。

　　推薦信尾必須有推薦人的親筆簽名，最好直接由推薦人寄給學(xué)校招生辦官員或申請(qǐng)就讀學(xué)校的系主任。如果由被推薦人寄送，可將推薦信裝入信封內(nèi)封好后由推薦人在信封口處親筆簽名以示保密。信封正面注明"A Letter Of Recommendation"，表明這是一封推薦信。

　　范例1 計(jì)算機(jī)教授推薦信

　　At the request of Mr. Xizhen Chen, my former student in the Department of Computer Science, Beijing Univ. of Sciences, I am glad to write this letter furnishing my evaluation of his academic aptitude for your reference. Mr. Chen is interested in your graduate program in Computer Science.

　　I came to know him in September 1987 when Mr. Chen enrolled in my class on FORTRAN IV Programming, a three semesters' course. In the class he was one of the most outstanding students. At the semester final he earned a high grade of 81, which should be "A" according to our grading system. I also found him good at other studies.

　　After the class, he had personal talks with me several times. He indicated a great interest in computer hardware, In my opinion, Mr. Chen has a potential in Computer Science, which can be further developed.

　　In view of his previous achievements in this College, I am firmly convinced that Mr. Chen will make a successful graduate student. Your favorable consideration of his admission will be highly appreciated.

　　It gives me a great pleasure to recommend Mr. Cheng as a transfer to the School of Business Administration of your University in the summer quarter of 1989.

　　During academic year 1980-1984, he was a student in our Department, World College of Journalism. I found him very diligent and intelligent. In front of numerous theories, Mr. Cheng represented good comprehension ability by understanding obscure concepts after my instruction, even inferring from them. Through his analysis of data, I saw his devotion to the teamwork and his great potential in this field, although analyzing large numbers of financial data was challenging. He often participated in extracurricular activities contributing a great deal to community affairs.

　　Though Mr. Cheng graduated from this college 5 years ago, he keeps, contact with me very often. Worthy of mention also is his personality, honest, reliable, responsible and mature.

　　I strongly recommend this promising young man and your favorable consideration and assistance to him will be very much appreciated.

　　范例3 法律系教授推薦信

　　I am pleased to write this letter for my former student Miss Nan Li, who graduated from this College with an L.B. degree in June 1978.

　　Miss Li was admitted to the Department of Law of this College in 1974 through highly competitive entrance examination which is conducted annually and is open to the whole nation. Even in such a selective group. Miss Li made herself distinguished. As professor and dean of the College, I have access to her records of academic work and moral conduct, In her fourth year study, I instructed her in Anglo-American Laws on Trespass. So I have known her quite well.

　　Miss Li's performance, like that in many other courses she taken, was excellent with a superior grade of 86 for the first semester, and 84 for the second semester. In our university and in other university here, 80 is considered "A" , the highest level.
