人愁多看報，積累詞匯我有妙招

　　你是不是經(jīng)常發(fā)現(xiàn)詞匯不夠用?好不容易背了好多遍的單詞，在寫作的時候竟然拼不出來?那么，你在記憶單詞時肯定出了問題，什么問題呢?情境的問題!凡是孤立的去記憶單詞，哪怕你是重復(fù)了多少遍，這都不可靠!那我為什么說情境可靠呢?為什么要讀報呢?先給大家舉個例子!

　　例一:

　　The Venerable Abbot Shi Yongxin leading China Songshan Shaolin Temple Delegation visited Google on March 19 and Apple on March 20. Although the technology world is vastly different from the Kung Fu and Zen of the Shaolin Temple, when the two worlds meet, Shi Yongxin said he saw similarities between working at Google and practicing Kung Fu, and the Apple products have a touch of Zen.

　　1. venerable:有一定詞匯儲備的小伙伴是不是很容易聯(lián)想到vulnerable呢?那么vulnerable是什么意思呢?我們先來看一個句子:

　　The volunteers work mainly with the elderly and other vulnerable groups.

　　志愿者們主要是和老年人以及弱勢群體打交道。

　　記住了沒有?vulnerable: someone who is vulnerable can be easily harmed or hurt.再記不住的話，我這顆易受傷害的玻璃心就要碎了!

　　回到這個句子venerable用英文更容易解釋，注意哦，倆字old and respected，比方說a venerable tradition

　　2. abbot:有的小朋友一看到這個詞就激動不已，“哎，我知道，是個人名!” “好像，有點(diǎn)像欸”，你們說是不是呢?是不是記成了Tony Abbott!這可不是澳大利亞總理阿博特!這里說的是我們尊者釋永信住持!沒錯abbot就是住持的意思!

　　例二:

　　Despite the IOC estimating costs for "Olympic villages, sports venues and other infrastructure "would be ￡962m ($1.5bn), it said Beijing "will rely heavily on existing venues, including those built for the Games in 2008".

　　3. venue:會不會聯(lián)想到另外一個詞呢?revenue?revenue是什么鬼呢?再想一下IRS不就是Internal Revenue Service嗎?在美劇或者電影里，尤其是《幸福來敲門》里爸爸沒錢交稅，交稅給誰?沒錯IRS國稅局!revenue是指收入或者稅收。這里的venue就是用revenue來建造的體育場館。

　　4. infrastructure:用revenue除了建造專業(yè)的sports venues，還要給公眾帶來福利的嘛，沒錯infrastructure就是指公共設(shè)施，用來便民的~~~奧運(yùn)會還是會帶來好處的嘛，怎么聽起來有點(diǎn)牽強(qiáng)呢?
