喜劇之王 查理·卓別林.

　　查理·卓別林(Charlie Chaplin，1889-1977)出生在英國倫敦的一個(gè)貧民區(qū)里，他的父母是音樂廳的演員。由于父親早亡，母親精神失常，他被迫流浪街頭。14歲那年，卓別林加入流動(dòng)劇團(tuán)，跑遍了英國各個(gè)角落。19歲時(shí)，他當(dāng)上了一個(gè)著名劇團(tuán)的演員，并隨團(tuán)到歐洲、美國等地演出。1913年他到了美國，開始從事電影事業(yè)，并于1914年在影片《威尼斯賽車記》中創(chuàng)造了一個(gè)悲劇小人物“夏爾洛”，從此這個(gè)有特別裝束的流浪漢形象風(fēng)行世界70年，經(jīng)久不衰。

　　Charles Spencer Chaplin was born in London, on April 16th 1889. His father was a versatile vocalist and actor; and his mother, known under the stage name of Lily Harley, was an attractive actress and singer, who gained a reputation for her work in the light opera field. Having inherited natural talents from their parents, the youngsters took to the stage as the best opportunity for a career.

　　When he was about twelve, he got his first chance to act in a legitimate stage show, and appeared as "Billy" the page boy, in support of William Gillette in "Sherlock Holmes". At the close of this engagement, Charlie started a career as a comedian in vaudeville, which eventually took him to the United States in 1910 as a featured player.

　　Chaplin became a worldwide icon through his screen persona "the Tramp" and is considered one of the most important figures of the film industry. His career spanned more than 75 years, from a child in the Victorian era to close to his death at the age of 88, and encompassed both adulation and controversy.

　　著名作品：卓別林一生主演過八十多部影片，他的一些代表作品，如《安樂狗》、《狗的生涯》、《尋子遇仙記》、《淘金記》、《城市之光》、《摩登時(shí)代》、《大獨(dú)裁者》等，總是寄同情于窮人，而嘲弄那些富人。他的作品具有獨(dú)特的藝術(shù)風(fēng)格，他的喜劇性的表演令人捧腹大笑，但是又使人笑后感到淚水的苦味，充滿了對(duì)受壓迫受欺凌的人們的同情。

　　偉人末年：卓別林在美國居住了近40年，第二次世界大戰(zhàn)后，由于他參加進(jìn)步的文化活動(dòng)而受到美國麥卡錫主義的迫害。1952年他懷著滿腔憤恨，帶著妻子兒子離開美國回到英國。以后長期定居在瑞士洛桑附近的韋威，1977年12月25日凌晨4時(shí)，世界著名的幽默大師查理·卓別林，在瑞士洛桑附近的韋威逝世，終年88歲。
